New Baby Gift Bundles

I've just completed bundles of new baby gifts for two friends. Both sets had changing mats and booties one friend wanted a bib and the other bloomers.

The pink floral fabric is a gorgeous soft Liberty print and the blue, red and white is from a vintage sheet I won from ebay. Luckily both friends loved their bundles and have even ordered more bundles!

Block-a-bye Baby

Welcome to the world baby Joel - hope you enjoy these bouncy building blocks.

It was great to make something for a little boy for a change, allowing me to use some beautiful tortoise fabric I got whilst in New York and car fabric given to me from Australia - truly international!

Other fabrics include a supersoft green check (apparently used by Jack Willis!) and remnants from a favourite shirt that no longer fits. I also made Joel a pair of matching booties - perfect for kicking over the a tower of blocks.

Ups and Downs Quilt

I've made this quilt as a wedding present for our good friends Lara and John who got married today! Its the first time I've used fabrics from just one collection - Cut Out and Keep by Cloud 9.

I choose this range of fabrics as the material is beautiful, soft and the colours will complement most  room decor schemes.

I used this quilt as an opportunity to practice my zig zag rows and I'm so pleased with how it worked out. I hope the quilt will keep Lara & John warm and cosy whatever ups and downs they face in the years to come!

Nesting

So I've heard most pregnant woman will demonstrate nesting instincts by extreme cleaning or washing and ironing hundreds of baby grows - me - I've been sewing. To be fair there has been a fair amount of baby related sewing going on but its not for my bump, no i've used this opportunity to stockpile items i'm going to be selling at my first ever craft fair.

My lovely friend Nina, has convinced me others might like some of things I make and so I shall be testing the theory in November at the NSPCC Islington Christmas Fair where 10% everything sold goes to the charity.

Add November 17th to your diary and come along and support me - pick up a unique bargain and donate to charity at the same time - what a lovely way to get the Christmas shopping done!

To date I've whipped up some bloomers, changing mats and Sleep Tight Quilts.

I've started on some bibs and have plans for Christmas stockings, decorations and garlands and some bags and eye masks. Will post as the stockpile grows!
