Keeping Warm

I'd forgotten I'd made this! I was looking through my hats and scarfs and found this - my first attempt in years at knitting! Not bad and it does keep me warm!

Flea Market Fancy PJs

To celebrate Al's safe return to the UK after such a long trip and her bravely transporting some serious fabric we spent a day sewing. Her new overlocker made the journey with her and after a couple of moments deciphering the threading instructions, it was up and running! To try it out I made some PJs out of this wonderful Flea Market Fancy fabric. The super-size allows for space for my rapidly growing baby tummy and much lounging!

This is baby quilt is a commission for Louisa as a gift for a brand new baby boy. The patchwork, appliquéd owl sits in the midst of 'branches' keeping it safe as it has a snooze!

Happy New Year!

It has been a while since I've updated my blog: becoming pregnant, a trip to New York with a proposal and then Christmas has kept me busy! But the new year has seen a refreshed urge to sew and two big projects are full steam ahead. Unfortunately as they're gifts I can't show them until later in the year -so watch this space!

Blue & Green Scrappy Quilt

This quilt has bought together some of my favourite scraps I've been saving. The blue and green strips and square detail on the back includes Liberty, Amy Butler & Kaffe Fassett fabrics. The hand sewn blue lines and vintage white fabric create the softest most snuggly quilt - perfect for a little baby boy! The quilt measures 85x120cm - just right for a pram, cot, play mat or wall hanging. All it needs is a new home! If you'd like it for yourself or as a gift just get in touch!

I've been a bit quiet recently - mainly due to a broken bobbin winder! Luckily all is fixed now and my trusty sewing machine looks set to last another 20+ years! I have managed to finish off two more Sleep Tight baby quilts for Nina's imminent arrival and my cousin Anna's new boy Jack. Hope both enjoy!
